Making the Most of Demographic Bonus through HR Development, President Jokowi Says

The Indonesian Government should be able to take proper advantage of the peak of demographic bonus that is projected to occur in 2030 and facilitate major human resources development, according to President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.

“The key is reform, be it in education or vocational training which must be provided in comprehensive and integrated manners,” President Jokowi said in his introductory remarks during a Limited Meeting on Education and Vocational Training, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Thursday (16/5).

The President expressed hope that the training will upgrade skills of human resources so that the budget that is spent can bring concrete benefit to the country.

Also joining the limited meeting were, among others, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, Minister of Education and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Minister of Manpower Hanif Dhakiri, and several others ministers of the Working Cabinet.
