Manpower Minister: Companies, Workers Must Comply with Emergency PPKM

Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah has ordered companies and workers / labors to comply with the Government’s policy on Emergency Public Activity Restrictions (PPKM Darurat) applied in the islands of Java and Bali from 3-20 July 2021.

The Minister also ordered manpower supervisors at the Central Government and regional governments to assist the COVOD-19 Task Force to guard the implementation of emergency restrictions in their respective regions.

“The Government’s policy on PPKM Darurat was made as the best effort to stop the spread of COVID-19. Since it is our mutual responsibility, all sides must adhere the policy for the sake of common safety,” she said in Jakarta, Saturday (3/7).

The Minister went on to say that discipline in adhering the health protocols regulated in the provisions of PPKM Darurat is an effort to protect business and to protect workers’ safety and health.

“We are prioritizing workers’ health and safety by preventing the spread of the virus at workplace. If everything gets better, productivity and business are also expected to improve, and the economy will rebound,” she said, adding that discipline in maintaining health protocols and adhering the restrictions will prevent new workplace clusters.

On that occasion, the Minister also called on entrepreneurs, worker / labor unions, workers / labors to cooperate with the Government to tackle the pandemic. (Ministry of Manpower PR/UN) (RAS/EP)
