The atmosphere of meeting between President Jokowi with South Korean President Park Geun Hye, in Busan, Thursday (11/12)

In addition to visit the company that manufactures ship Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME), on the second day of his visit to Busan, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) also held a bilateral meeting with South Korean President Park Geun Hye.

In the meeting that was held at the Exhibition Center, Bexco, Busan, Thursday (11/12), President Jokowi convey appreciation for good bilateral relations between Indonesia and South Korea over the years. Jokowi recommend that there is a meeting between the Foreign Affairs Ministers to continue the relationship better.

“I really appreciate the bilateral relations between Indonesia and South Korea, and for stronger relationship, I recommend there is a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs in the form of a joint commission, should be done immediately,” President Jokowi said.

Meanwhile, South Korean President Park Geun Hye in his introduction speech, said that Indonesia is an important and strategic trading partner for South Korea.

President Park also claimed to hear that when Jokowi as Mayor of Solo, also ever been to South Korea. “Now he comes as a President. Thus with this closeness, cooperation could be continued,” President Park said.

When meeting with the South Korean President Park Geun Hye, President Jokowi accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Economy Sofyan Jalil, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi, and Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Yuddy Crishnandi. (RAM/OCT/ES)
