It takes hard work, discipline, and honesty to be successful in business, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has said.

The President made the statement during his visit to the booths owned by participants of Mekaar program. which stands for Membina Ekonomi Keluarga Sejahtera (Fostering the Economy of the Prosperous Family) run by state-owned community development institution PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) at the Police Dormitory Field, Gunung Sahari Selatan, Kemayoran Subdistrict, Central Jakarta, Saturday (26/1).

On that occasion, the President also reminded Mekaar participants to not only maintain trust from buyers, but should also improve quality of their products.

“Do not lose trust from your buyers. Do not also forget to make installment payments,” the President said, adding that the PNM will increase the amount of loan provided should the Mekaar beneficiaries manage to run their business well.

The President also expressed belief that 100 out of 524 Mekaar beneficiaries can be upgraded to the Smallholder Business Credit (KUR) program recipients. The KUR program provides loan amounting to Rp25 million – Rp500 million. (FID/JAY/ES)
