Salam Pemuda!

My fellow countrymen, the youth of Indonesia, wherever you may be.
I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, on behalf of myself and the Government, extend my sincere congratulations on the 97th Anniversary of Youth Pledge Day, 2025.

On this day, the nation commemorates a defining moment in history when Indonesia’s youth, in 1928, made a solemn pledge that became the foundation of our national unity, one motherland Indonesia, one nation Indonesia, and one language the Indonesian language. Those youths, most of them only 22, 23, or 24 years old, shared one noble dream: for Indonesia to be free, united, sovereign, and dignified. Nearly a century later, their spirit continues to guide us. It is now our turn to carry forward their struggle with knowledge, integrity, discipline, and hard work. We must give true meaning to our independence by building an Indonesia that is modern, advanced, and prosperous.

Our struggle is not yet over. Too many of our brothers and sisters still live in hardship: the farmers in their fields, the fishermen at sea, the factory workers, and the young people working tirelessly for their families. To them, we owe a solemn duty to ensure that every Indonesian can live in dignity and prosperity, and take pride in being part of this great nation. Ours is a land of abundant wealth, what matters now is that we have the wisdom to protect and manage it well.

Indonesia’s youth, you are the nation’s hope and strength. This country cannot progress without your spirit, your hard work, your burning love for the homeland, your integrity, and your courage to uphold honesty and justice. Patriotism is not merely spoken, it must be proven through discipline, perseverance, and the willingness to sacrifice for the nation. It is the courage to stand for what is right and the sincerity to serve the people wholeheartedly. As long as there are young Indonesians who are honest, courageous, and loyal to their nation and its people, Indonesia will never be defeated.

Therefore, I call upon you, the youth of Indonesia, do not be afraid to dream big. Do not fear failure. Great nations are born from courageous young people, those who love their country and are willing to sacrifice for their people. Let us ignite the spirit of unity, the spirit of mutual cooperation, and the determination to always give our best for this beloved nation. Together, we shall prove that Indonesia is a strong, just, and prosperous nation — respected by the world because its people live in dignity and welfare.
Once again, I wish you all a happy 97th Youth Pledge Day. The youth on the move, Indonesia is united. Thank you.

Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
May peace and prosperity be upon us all,
