Indonesian Military!
To begin, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the big family of the Indonesian Military on the 79th Anniversary of the Indonesian Military Day. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude for the unwavering loyalty and dedicated service of all Indonesian military personnel to our people, nation, and country.
Over the past 10 years of my administration, I have deeply appreciated the vital role and contribution of Indonesian Military in safeguarding our state sovereignty, maintaining unity and political stability, and addressing numerous challenges and crises.
In particular, I would like to convey my gratitude to Minister of Defense and the President-elect General (Retired) Prabowo Subianto, who has significantly strengthened Indonesia’s defense capabilities. Through his efforts, we have advanced modern defense equipment, supported local defense industries, enhanced defense diplomacy on the global stage, and achieved many other notable others.
The challenges we face ahead will be no easier than those we’ve overcome. Science and technology are advancing rapidly, cyber threats are becoming more severe, and geo-political tensions are rising. Today, we are confronted not only with conventional warfare, but also with economic and trade conflicts. We must meet these challenges with preparedness and vigilance. Therefore, the Indonesian Military must continue to enhance its capabilities, stay attuned to the current developments, especially by advancing its capacity and professionalism.
However, the Indonesian Military cannot work alone. It is essential to foster collaboration, cooperation with various stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies to maintain stability, universities to advance science and technology, and with industry players to strengthen local defense industries.
Finally, we have two major events approaching; on October 20, the transition of national leadership with the inauguration of President-elect and Vice President-elect, followed by the Simultaneous Regional Elections, encompassing 508 regencies/cities and 37 provinces. Therefore, I urge you all to maintain stability and support the government transition, ensuring that the process run smoothly and without disruption. Let there be no disturbances that could potentially threaten state security. Your full support is essential for the successful implementation of the Regional Elections, upholding neutrality and preserving a conducive atmosphere.
Once again, let me thank all Indonesian Military big family for their unwavering support during my ten years as President.
Indonesian Army Day!
Thank you.
Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
