Indonesian Military Chiefs of Staff have pledged support to the Government in implementing the new normal protocols.

The Chiefs of Staff also ensured that personnel of the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) will uphold discipline among the people in following strict health protocols so they can be productive while remaining safe from the COVID-19.

Navy Chief of Staff Adm.Yudo Margono said that the Navy will continue to provide assistance in the mitigation efforts to fight COVID-19, while the personnel on the ground will also assist regional governments in maintaining discipline among the people.

Sharing a similar sentiment, Air Force Chief of Staff Marshall Fadjar Prasetyo stated that the Air Force will give its support for the Government’s effort to mitigate COVID-19, including by sending medical tools to rural areas.

“The Air Force will support [the government’s efforts], for example by sending medical tools to rural areas with an airport and/or air force base, while continuing  to perform our regular duties to maintain the nation’s sovereignty,” he said.

For the record, the Chiefs of Staff on Sunday (14/6) accompanied President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo jogging around the Bogor Palace. (BPMI/EN)
