“Ministry of Manpower continues to improve the wellbeing of Papua and West Papua by developing local human resources competencies,” the Minister said during her meeting with Presidential Special Staffer Billy Mambrasar on Wednesday (06/10).

She said that the commitment is a follow-up to Presidential Instruction Number 9 of 2020 on the Acceleration of Wellbeing Improvement in the Provinces of Papua and West Papua.

In a bid to develop Papuan and West Papuan manpower, she added, the Ministry has unveiled the plan called “Nine Big Leaps of Ministry of Manpower”.

The plan includes the transformation of job training centers (BLK), employment links and matches, transformation of employment expansion programs, development of young talents, expansion of overseas job markets, new visions of industrial relations, supervisory reforms, the SIAPKerja digital ecosystem, and bureaucratic reforms.

In the meantime, Presidential  Special Staffer Billy Mambrasar applauded the Ministry of Manpower’s plan. According to him, the plan is expected to have a tremendous impact on the development of workforce competencies.

Billy stated that he and Ministry of Manpower would further discuss the measures to improve the wellbeing of the two provinces.

We will follow up the plan by conducting technical meetings to support President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s programs and directives,” Billy remarked. (PR of Ministry of Manpower/UN) (RI/MUR)
