Minister Orders State Apparatus to Play Active Role in COVID-19 Handling

Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reforms (PANRB) TjahjoKumolo hasordered State Civil Apparatus to be involved in the handling of COVID-19 pandemic, including to support national vaccination program.

“State Civil Apparatus should join hands with the Indonesian National Defense Force (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and prominent figures and be actively involved in the handling of COVID-19, particularly during Emergency Public Activity Restrictions (PPKM Darurat),” he said, Monday (5/7).

State apparatus, he added, also plays important role to become a role model of discipline in adhering to the health protocols for others and to invite the public and colleagues to comply with the Government’s instruction.

Following the imposing of the PPKM Daruratin the islands of Java and Bali from 3-20 July 2021, Ministry of PANRB has issued Circular Number 14 of 2021 on Work System for State Civil Apparatus during PPKM Darurat.

Though the restrictions, State Civil Apparatus in the islands of Java and Bali must always maintain their productivity in providing services to the public, he added.

“Governance and public services must run as normal. When there is no urgency to go to the office, State Civil Apparatus must maintain their work performance at home and become a role model for their environments,” he said.

In that Circular, all State Civil Apparatus assigned at non-essential sector in Java and Bali are obliged to work from home.

Meanwhile, a maximum attendance for institutions providing essential services to the public is 50 percent and 100 percent for institutions providing critical services. (Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reforms PR/UN) (RAS/EP)
