Minister Tells Officials to Attend Pancasila Sanctity Ceremony Virtually

Minister of Education and Culture Nadiem Anwar Makarim has issued a circular regarding an order for government officials to attend the annual commemoration of the Pancasila Sanctity Day virtually.

The circular is addressed to ministers, heads of state institutions / central agencies, heads of Indonesian representatives abroad, and heads of regions.

“The theme of this year’s Pancasila Sanctity Day is Indonesia Based on Pancasila,” according to Nadiem in the circular.

For the record, the commemoration ceremony at the Central Government level is scheduled to be held at the Pancasila Sakti Monument at Lubang Buaya in East Jakarta on Thursday (1/10).

However, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Nadiem urged officials at the Central Government level to attend the ceremony virtually.

Meanwhile for regional leaders / regional leadership coordination forums as well as heads of institutions in the regions, they are also required to attend the ceremony virtually.

“Ministers, Heads of State Institutions / Central Agencies along with Middle and High Leaders or equivalent are obliged to attend the ceremony virtually,” said Nadiem.

Furthermore, every central and regional agency office, representative office of the Republic of Indonesia abroad, as well as the general public on 30 September 2020 are ordered to fly the national flag at half-mast and to raise it at full-mast on 1 October 2020 at 06.00 local time,” the circular wrote.
