Following the distribution of cash assistance as a form of reallocating fuel subsidies, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini affirmed that the Ministry will update the social welfare integrated data (DTKS) to ensure the cash assistance is disbursed to the right target.

“Based on the Law, [the update] is made twice a year. Considering rapid changes in regions, the update of [the DTKS] is made every month,” the Minister said that in her press statement at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Saturday (09/03).

She went on to say that the updating is made based on inputs and suggestions from the regional governments. The public may also provide inputs through ‘Cek Bansos’ mobile application or command center line of the Ministry on 021-171 which will be verified by the office.

Risma added that the Ministry deployed 70,000 facilitators throughout the country to check and verify the social assistance beneficiaries’ data on the ground.

Furthermore, state postal company PT. Pos Indonesia will soon distribute the fuel cash assistance to 18 million out of 20.65 million beneficiary families (KPM). Meanwhile, the cash will be transferred to the remaining KPM after the updating.

According to her, each beneficiary will receive Rp600,000 in two phases. The first Rp300,000 will be disbursed in September and the rest in December.

The Ministry, she added, will also be proactive in facilitating the beneficiaries who are unable to go to the post office.

“So (citizens) who are sick and the elderly who may not be able to go to the post office, and those living far from the post office don’t have to worry, we will take the cash to their homes,” she concluded. (DND/UN) (RAS/LW)
