Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

May prosperity be upon us,

Om Swastiastu,

Namo Buddhaya,

Greetings of virtue.

Beloved mothers across the country,

The COVID-19 pandemic that has hit 215 countries worldwide has put heavy pressure on every family in Indonesia, both in the health sector and in the socio-economic sector. As part of the family pillar, mothers have taken a big responsibility in helping families adapt to new habits and in providing support to the families to be safe from COVID-19. Mothers have accompanied the children to study from home online, ensure the fulfillment of family nutrition to boost immunity, and maintain the implementation of health protocols.

To that end, on this year’s Mother’s Day, I would like to express my deepest gratitude and highest appreciation for the great struggle of mothers who have never felt tired in protecting their families and protecting the future of the nation.

To all strong Indonesian mothers,

The pandemic has not dampened our efforts to carry out a strategic agenda for advancing Indonesian women. Indonesian women must have better access to education and health services. Indonesian women must get better jobs and livelihoods for humanity. Maternal mortality rates must continue to be reduced, and pregnant women must get adequate nutrition so that the stunting rate can be reduced. All forms of violence against women and children must be eliminated, and women must be protected from human trafficking crime. Women’s participation and involvement in the public sphere must be increased.

To that end, I order the Ministers, Governors, Regents, Mayors and related officials to open up opportunities, provide access and facilitate the widest possible participation of women, and continue to safeguard women’s empowerment and gender mainstreaming in all sectors.

Happy 92nd anniversary of Mother’s Day. Empowered women for advanced Indonesia.

I thank you.

Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Om Santi Santi Santi Om.

Namo Buddhaya. (RI/MUR)
