New LKPP Head to Bolster Efforts to Drive Local Products to Join E-Katalog App
In accordance with the mandate of the President, the newly inaugurated Head of the National Public Procurement Agency (LKPP) Hendrar Prihadi underlined that the agency will continue to drive local products, especially MSME products, to join the e-Katalog application.
“Even today, efforts are being made by the central, provincial, and regional governments to mobilize MSME facilities. Later, we will also collaborate, the LKPP and the cooperative office, of course, under the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investments,” the new Head said after his inauguration, Monday (10/10), at the State Palace, Jakarta.
In addition, he was also assigned by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo to support efforts to increase the use of domestic products (P3DN) in order to bolster economic growth.
“Today’s post-COVID-19 pandemic, we need a considerable effort to continue to drive economic growth, so through the available budget, the LKPP is encouraged to buy domestic products. So on the following programs, there are programs for e-Katalog, P3DN; the regional governments are ordered to speed up the licensing process and other supporting efforts,” he said.
On regulation, Hendrar stated that the agency was asked to prepare a bill for the procurement of government goods and services. “The President also ordered us to draft a bill on the Procurement of Goods and Services which must be ratified before 2024. Those are future plans and we will continue to consolidate,” he remarked. (TGH/UN) (FI/MMB)
