Newly-inaugurated Environment Minister Affirms Readiness to Address Waste Issue

President Prabowo Subianto Monday (04/27) inaugurated Mohammad Jumhur Hidayat as Minister of Environment / Head of the Environmental Control Agency, at the State Palace, Jakarta.

After his inauguration, Mohammad Jumhur Hidayat stated that he is ready to carry out programs within his authority as the minister.

“We will implement a range of programs ahead, for instance the issue of waste which will be addressed gradually in accordance with global standards. We will also finalize several international agreements,” he told reporters.

He also expressed optimism about carrying out duties as Minister of Environment in President Prabowo’s administration, which he said has a strong commitment to environmental issues.

“With the support from the President who has strong commitment in environmental issues, I believe officials within the Ministry of Environment will be able to carry out their duties effectively,” he stated.

The newly-inaugurated minister also underscored the importance of raising public awareness about environment and called on the community to participate in promoting environmental awareness as part of our daily lives.

“Please pray for me and support efforts to promote environmental awareness, ensuring it becomes a habit in our hearts. Therefore, God willing, the impact will be even better in the future,” he said.  (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RAS/AW)
