President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (08/19) inaugurated three ministers and one deputy minister of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet for the period of 2019-2024 at the State Palace in Jakarta.

The inauguration is expected to strengthen the Government’s performance in carrying out a number of programs and policies to prepare leadership transition.

Bahlil Lahadalia, who was inaugurated as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, said that optimizing the potential and production of natural resources is important to increase state revenue and create jobs.

Bahlil also expressed his hope that the ongoing policy can be continued and improved by focusing on the continuity of natural resources management.

Moreover, Supratman Andi Agtas, who was inaugurated as Minister of Law and Human Rights, said that law harmonization is important to address the issue of overlapping regulations so that silos can be avoided.

“The President ordered me to harmonize and integrate the regulations so that silos due to overlapping regulations can be avoided,” he added.

On that occasion, Rosan Roeslani, who was inaugurated as Minister of Investment/Head of Investment Coordinating Board, also said that he will continue the works that had been carried out by the previous minister.

Furthermore, Angga Raka Prabowo, who was inaugurated as Deputy Minister of Communications and Informatics, expressed his gratitude for the inauguration and said that he will coordinate with the current Minister to discuss personal data protection and online gambling issue. (KS/ABD) (AP/RAS/MMB)
