Newly-Inaugurated Presidential Special Envoy Unveils Tasks of Poverty Alleviation, Ensuring Food Security

After being inaugurated by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, Presidential Special Envoy (UKP) for Poverty Alleviation and Food Security Cooperation, Muhamad Mardiono Wednesday (11/23) was appointed to take the responsibility to carry out coordination, synchronization, as well as management on the Government’s programs related poverty alleviation and improvement of food security.

On that occasion, Mardiono ensured that the duties will be fulfilled in order to achieve the priority agenda of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including poverty alleviation and food security.

“The duties I have to fulfill are regulated on Presidential Regulation Number 12 of 2022 on the Government Food Reserves,” he said.

Mardiono added that he will continue to coordinate with related to government institutions, to carry out inspection in the regions and on the ground, as well as to conduct research on poverty alleviation and improvement of food security.

Also joining the inauguration were Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman. (SLN/AIT/ST) (AP /EP)
