No Creativity Without Happiness: State Secretary

The newly-appointed civil servants at Ministry of State Secretariat and Cabinet Secretariat are expected to develop new ways of working, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno has said.

According to Pratikno, there is no creativity without happiness.

“In the past 6 years, we have always promoted measures to simplify our way of life and work,” the Minister said during the inauguration of those civil servants at Ministry of State Secretariat and Cabinet Secretariat in Jakarta, Wednesday (5/2).

In the future, Pratikno continued, work must be carried out happily. He added that if the work can be completed in four then ones do not have to work for eight hours and if the work can be done outside the office, then one does not necessarily have to go to the office.

The Minister added that the young civil servants must utilize their advantages as “digital natives”. You’re native digital. Be creative. Be innovative. You have the freedom to think. You have the freedom to design,” he said.

“We are striving to give you space (to be creative and innovative),” the Minister said, adding that to survive in the face of the challenges of the times, one must have strong characters and tools to adapt since sciences are developing rapidly. (FID/EN)
