President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said that he has already had discussion with Minister of Social Affairs Khofifah Indar Parawansa about the resignation from her ministerial post to run in the East Java Gubernatorial Election. Nevertheless, the President admitted that so far he has not received an official resignation letter from the Minister.

“As of now, I have not received the resignation letter,” the President said after visiting 2017 Kriyanusa Dekranas Exhibition at the Jakarta Convention Center on Wednesday (27/9).

President Jokowi also said that during his working visit to Bali on Tuesday (26/9), the Minister joined the visit and discussed the plan. President Jokowi also did not deny that Minister Khofifah has verbally expressed her plan to contest in the Election. “We’ve had a small discussion about that but it is not official yet,” the President said.

For the record, on many occasions, Khofifah hinted that she might run in the East Java Gubernatorial Election. Nevertheless, she affirmed that she has not tendered her resignation letter to the President. (DND/RAH/ES) (EP/YM/Naster)
