Non-Aligned Foreign Policy Strengthens Global Trust in Indonesia

President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to continuously pursuing a non-aligned foreign policy and maintaining good relations with all countries. According to him, the principle is a long-standing legacy of the nation’s founding fathers that remains the key foundation in facing an increasingly dynamic global geopolitical landscape.

“We are fully aware, and I have emphasized this since I was first inaugurated, that Indonesia’s foreign policy remains that of a good neighbor. The good neighbor. Our policy is the policy of the good neighbor. We want to be a good neighbor,” the President stated in his directive during the meeting with central and regional business leaders of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) from across Indonesia at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Friday (07/31).

The President explained that Indonesia continuously strives to strengthen friendly ties with neighboring countries through dialogue and reconciliation. “I have sought to improve our relations with all of our neighbors. I strive for reconciliation and pursue constructive approach,” he stated.

The President further reiterated that Indonesia must continue to uphold wisdom, patience, and restraint in responding to global challenges. The Head of State also emphasized that non-aligned foreign policy enables Indonesia to maintain good relations with all strategic partners without aligning itself with any particular power.

“Wherever I go, I assert that we, Indonesia, are neutral. We respect all powers,” he added.

According to the President, Indonesia’s consistent implementation of its non-aligned foreign policy has strengthened international confidence in the country. He added that it was reflected in the trust placed in Indonesia by the international community, including visions for Indonesia to help facilitate dialogue in various regions.
