Online Transport Must Ensure Public Comfort and Security, President Jokowi Says
President Joko Jokowi Widodo said that online transport is one of the products of the development of information technology that cannot be avoided. According to the President, online transportation has been recognized and accepted by the public in several cities and also considered to have benefits.
However, in transitional situations, in order to facilitate the public, especially in urban areas to access a fast and affordable transport service, the President emphasized that the Government should respond to the dynamics of this rapid change. “So, everyone can enjoy it and transport services are to provide security, safety, and convenience for the public,” President Jokowi said when giving an introductory remarks at a Limited Meeting on the Arrangement of Transport Online, at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (18/7 ) afternoon.
The Limited Meeting was attended by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Presidential Chief of Staff Teten Masduki, Minister of Transportation Budi K. Sumadi, Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Anak Agung Gde Ngurah Puspayoga, Minister of Manpower Hanif Dhakiri, Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna H.
