Palestine Reaffirms Trust in Indonesia in Rooting for Her Independence

The Government of Palestine has reaffirmed its trust in Indonesia as a country that has always consistently supported the struggle of the Palestinian people.

“We trust Indonesia. We trust its stance on the Palestinian struggle. We are certain that the Government of Indonesia and the people of Indonesia will continue to support the freedom of Palestine and the independence of Palestine, insha Allah,” Mahmoud Al-Habbash, the Special Envoy of the President of Palestine, said in his press statement following a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (03/18).

During the meeting, Al-Habbash conveyed a special letter from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to President Prabowo Subianto, containing a message about the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Palestine and the situation currently facing the Palestinian people.

“We brought a special letter from the President of Palestine, President Mahmoud Abbas, to His Excellency President of Indonesia regarding the relations between Indonesia and Palestine and Palestinian issues in general, especially the horrible situation in Palestine under Israeli aggression that has continued and even resumed this morning, as you may know,” Al-Habbash said.

Al-Habbash also pointed out that during the meeting, the Palestinian Government explained the current situation in Palestine while expressing appreciation for Indonesia’s full support for the struggle and rights of the Palestinian people.

The meeting further reaffirmed Indonesia’s strong commitment to supporting Palestinian independence and strengthening their bilateral relations. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (DH/MUR)
