Pancasila Guides Nation to Overcome Challenges: President Jokowi

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo expressed optimism that the State ideology of Pancasila and the national unity and brotherhood will help Indonesia overcome the challenges.
“We have gone through various challenges since our independence, the period of development, and the era of globalization. Today, our country is being challenged with an extraordinary test: COVID-19 pandemic,” the President wrote on his personal Facebook account, Thursday (1/10).
Previously, President Jokowi on Thursday (1/10) morning led the ceremony to commemorate Pancasila Sanctity Day, which falls on 1 October, at the Pancasila Sakti Monument, Jakarta.
The ceremony was also attended by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Bambang Soesatyo, Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Puan Maharani, Speaker of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) La Nyala Mattalitti, Minister of Education and Culture Nadiem Anwar Makarim, Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) Idham Azis.
The ceremony was also virtually attended by Cabinet Ministers, Heads of State Institutions/Agencies, families of revolutionary heroes, Regional Heads and Heads of Regional Agencies. (TGH/UN)
