COVID-19 pandemic has brought valuable lessons and forced people to develop new ways, build new norms and new standards of life, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has said.

According to the President, massive lockdown in a number of public services and facilities has left a very limited opportunity for public interaction; thus many routines could not be done with only ordinary methods.  (note: Furthermore, further said itu disimpan di bagian-bagian akhir paragraph)

“We must change. We must develop new ways, new strategies that are smart and out of the box,” the President said at the Opening of Indonesian Rector Virtual Forum on Saturday (4/7) at the Bogor Palace, West Java province

On that occasion, the President also acknowledged the complexity of higher education problems, including academicians’ extraordinary ability without the support in the form of adequate educational facilities.

“That is why we have to develop extraordinary ways (to solve those problems), such as by improving online lectures” the President said.

“Online lectures have become a new normal and even become the next normal. I believe there will be more innovative and more productive ways in the future teaching-learning process,” the President said. (UN / EN)
