Papua Working Visit: President Jokowi Distributes Food Assistance

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo kicked off working visit to Papua province on Wednesday (11/22).

The President took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta to Papua province at around 10.00 Western Indonesian Time and arrived in Frans Kaisiepo Internasional Airport at 16.10 Eastern Indonesian Time.

Afterwards, he headed to Mandala State Logistics Agency’s (Bulog) warehouse in Biak Numfor regency to check rice stock and distribute food assistance to beneficiary families (KPM).

On that occasion, the President also confirmed that the Government will continue to provide food assistance until March 2024. Each beneficiary family will receive 10 kilograms of rice per month.

“You will receive the assistance in December, January, February, March,” he said.

He went on to say that anyone who is not on the list of beneficiaries can register as an additional quota to their respective neighborhood unit (RT) and community unit (RW) heads or sub-district/village offices. (BPMI SETPRES/AIT) (RAS/MMB)
