Head of the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), Hasan Nasbi, delivered a press statement following the plenary cabinet meeting chaired by President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Monday afternoon (12/02). The meeting addressed a range of strategic issues, including key takeaways from the President’s recent visits to several countries.

Hasan underscored that President Prabowo’s overseas tour commenced with a visit to the People’s Republic of China (PRC) as a token of respect for the Eastern traditions.

“The President received an exceptionally warm welcome, even on a day when it was uncommon for the Chinese President to receive guests,” Hasan remarked.

Following his visit to China, President Prabowo traveled to the United States, reinforcing Indonesia’s commitment to collaborating with nations across the globe while maintaining neutrality toward specific defense blocs.

“The President received equal access to all countries, including fostering opportunities for investments and investors from the USA,” he added.

During a meeting with the Prime Minister of India, President Prabowo accepted an invitation to attend India’s National Day on January 26, 2025. Moreover, Indonesia was invited to send a contingent of its National Defense Forces (TNI) to participate in the National Day parade.

“The President plans to dispatch TNI troops to take part in the parade on India’s National Day,” Hasan remarked.

The President’s visits highlighted his strong commitment to environmental conservation. While meeting with the King of the United Kingdom and representatives of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), President Prabowo pledged 20,000 hectares of his private land in Aceh for elephant conservation—double the area initially requested by the WWF.

“Mr. Prabowo said not 10,000 hectares. Instead, he donated 20,000 hectares of his land for the elephant conservation, to be managed by the WWF,” Hasan explained.

Additionally, President Prabowo reaffirmed the Government’s priority on four primary sectors: providing free nutritious meals to the public, strengthening food and energy security, and accelerating industrial downstreaming.

“These priorities will lay the foundation for Indonesia’s advancement in the future,” Hasan concluded. (ECH/DNS) (AY/MUR)
