People of Bogor-Sukabumi Excited to Get Donation from President Jokowi

President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo, accompanied by First Lady Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo, on Wednesday (21/7) morning, visited several regions in West Java Province. The President distributed thousands of sembako (nine staple food items) packages to local people who were enthusiastic to welcome him.

The first location visited by the President was Ciawi Village, Harjasari, South Bogor Subdistrict. One of the residents, Ina, said that she is happy to receive donation from the President and she will use it for Eid-Al-Fitr 1438 H. “I am happy and grateful for this donation,” Ina said, as quoted by a press release of the Head of Press, Media, and Information Bureau, Secretariat of the President, Bey Machmudin.

Besides Ina, thousands of people were also happy to welcome the President and Ibu Iriana. Their enthusiasm could be seen when the President greeted the people who were queuing. He also shook hands with them and took selfies.

Another location visited by the President was Badminton Field of Caringin Village, Bogor Regency, and Cicurug Square, Cicurug Subdistrict, Sukabumi Regency.

The last, President Jokowi distributed sembako packages at Cibadak Bus Station, Sukabumi Regency. Beforehand, the President and his entourage stopped by at Al Hurriyyah Grand Mosque Cicurug, Sukabumi Regency, to perform Zuhur prayer.

At every location, President Jokowi distributed 3,000 sembako packages consist of 5 kilograms of rice, cooking oil, sugar, and tea. Meanwhile, Ibu Iriana distributed batik cloth to the women. Also accompanying the President and Ibu Iriana were Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono. (BPMI/JAY/EN)(MMB/YM/Naster)
