People’s Smiles, Greetings, and Prayers are Sources of Strength, President Jokowi Says

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has been assuming his role as the President of the Republic of Indonesia for a decade, and governing Indonesia for five years together with Vice President Ma’ruf Amin. It is a great mandate that has been carried out with Indonesian people’s supports and prayers.

President Jokowi made the statement in the State of the Nation Address at the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives and House of Regional Representatives, in Nusantara I Building, the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Friday (08/16).

“Supports and prayers of the people are always with me and make me strong. Smiles, greetings, and prayers from all of you, my fellow citizens, have become my fountain of strength,’ the President said.

The Head of State expressed his appreciation for always with him in addressing challenges, going through every step of the process, and facing various changes.

“My profound gratitude goes to all of you. To all Indonesian people wherever you are, who have come together these past 10 years to pass one obstacle after another, taking one step after another, facing one change after another,” he expressed.

President Jokowi also stated that because of the steadfastness and togetherness showed by the Indonesian people as a great nation, Indonesia has reached a point to achieve advancement in the future.
