PKH Fund Can be Disbursed in February 2018, President Jokowi Says

President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo says that the fund of Aspiring Family Program (PKH) can be disbursed by the beneficiaries on 1 February. The total of this program’s fund is Rp1.89 million per year for each beneficiary and can be withdrawn several times a year.

“Hopefully the fund can be increased if there is a budget surplus next year,” the President says when distributing social assistances to 1,000 pre-prosperous families, at Lapang Bakri Park, Banjar Regency, West Java, Tuesday (16/1) morning.<>

On this occasion, the President also hands over Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) to elementary school, junior high school, and senior high school students as well as those who join school equivalency programs (Kejar Paket A, B, and C).

The Government gives these social assistances to help children to pursue their education and also to improve their nutrition.

There are 1,771 students who receive these assistances handed over personally by President Jokowi. The recipients consisting of 653 elementary school students, 555 junior high school students, 119 senior high school students, 297 vocational school students, and 147 students joining school equivalency program.

In his report, the Governor of West Java specially appreciates this education assistance given to students in his province. He mentions that the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) can motivate students to study hard.

On this event, President Jokowi is accompanied by Minister of Social Affairs Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Presidential Chief of Staff Teten Masduki, and Governor of West Java Ahmad Heryawan.

After handing over PKH and KIP assistances in Garut, President Jokowi and his entoruage continue their trip to Ciamis to attend the handover of land certificates.

Afterwards, they continue the working visit to Bandung. Here, the President is scheduled to lead a Limited Meeting on the management of Citarum Watershed and to open President’s Cup Football Tournament in Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium.
