PLN Provides 24-Hour Electricity for Residents in NTT-East Timor Border

Following the operational improvement of the Oepoli Diesel Power Plant in North Netemnanu village, Kupang regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) province, residents in the border between the province and the neighboring East Timor now can enjoy 24-hours electricity access non-stop.

Previously, electricity access in the area was only 12 hours.

“The Government will continue to push state-owned electricity company PT. PLN to provide better electricity access to the communities, especially those in 3T regions (frontier, outermost, and least developed regions),” Head of Public Information Services Communication and Cooperation Bureau of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Agung Pribadi said (21/06/2021).

In the meantime, General Manager of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Master Unit of PT. PLN Agustinus Jatmiko said that efforts were needed to distribute electricity access to the border areas, one of which is delivering one unit of 160-kilowatt (kW) engine and one transformer unit from Kupang city.
