Chinese Premier Li Qiang Saturday (05/24) arrived in Indonesia and is slated to hold a bilateral meeting with President Prabowo Subianto.

Minister of Investment and Downstream/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, expressed his optimism following the Premier Li Qiang’s visit to Indonesia. He said this visit brings great potential in strengthening the economic cooperation, especially through the expansion of investment from China.

“He does not come alone, but along with his entourage of approximately 60 businesspeople. They are big businesspeople that some of them have invested in Indonesia and some have not,” said Rosan at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, on Saturday (5/24).

He said he met with a number of Chinese businesspeople yesterday. He also highlighted the business meeting that will be held this evening by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).

“I met some of them yesterday. And tonight there will also be a dinner gathering held by Kadin, and God willing, the Prime Minister will also attend the event,” he said.

The business meeting will bring together approximately 100 Chinese and 100 Indonesian businesspeople. Rosan considered this forum very strategic to encourage the establishment of new concrete agreements.

For the record, the visit also coincides with the 75th anniversary of Indonesia-China diplomatic relations. Rosan emphasized that the bilateral meeting between President Prabowo and Premier Li Qiang will focus on strengthening strategic cooperation in various fields.

“Tomorrow there will be a meeting at 10 a.m., continued with lunch attended by the businesspeople. Later on, there will be some discussions on how to further enhance the relations between Indonesia and China that have lasted 75 years,” he concluded. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (JAS/MUR)
