President Donald Trump Praises President Prabowo Subianto for Promoting Peace in Middle East

President of the United States, Donald Trump, has praised President Prabowo Subianto for leadership and significant contributions toward promoting peace and saving lives in conflict areas, including Gaza.
“We have signed a strong agreement. We have 59 countries involved. We have numerous of them right here at this table, like, as an example, Indonesia, my new friend. Thank you for helping. We appreciate it,” President Trump said at the 13th ASEAN–United States Summit held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Malaysia, Sunday (10/26).
President Trump highlighted Indonesia’s important role in supporting efforts to create lasting peace in the Middle East.
“I would like to thank Malaysia and Brunei, as well as my friend, President Prabowo of Indonesia, for their incredible support of these efforts to secure the new day for the Middle East,” he stated.
He added that the recent breakthroughs represent a historic moment for the region.
“This is truly a new day. There has never been a period of time like this. The Middle East will have peace after 3,000 years. This is a very strong peace. It is going to be an everlasting peace,” he said.
In the meantime, President Prabowo welcomed the active involvement of the United States in strengthening relations and cooperation with ASEAN. The President emphasized that continued U.S. engagement brings constructive benefits both to the Southeast Asian region and to the United States itself.
“We support the continued U.S. engagement with ASEAN. The engagement has been very positive for ASEAN and for the United States,” President Prabowo told reporters following the summit.
The President also expressed appreciation for the United States’ diplomatic efforts in mediating conflict between Thailand and Cambodia. He noted that such initiatives help foster regional stability and harmony.
“We are very happy that the United States has mediated the conflict between Thailand and Cambodia. The outcome of this Summit is very positive,” President Prabowo remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RI/MUR)
