President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Wednesday (13/2) at the State Palace, Jakarta inaugurated Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Emil Elestianto Dardak as Governor and Deputy Governor of East Java for the term of 2019-2024 and Fachrori Umar as Governor of Jambi Province (replacing Zumi Zola) for the remaining term of 2016-2021.

The inauguration ceremony began by reverberating the National Anthem Indonesia Raya and was followed by the recitation of Presidential Decree Number 2/P of 2019 on the Appointment of Governor and Deputy Governor of East Java Province for the term of 2019-2024 and Presidential Decree Number 16/P on the Appointment of the Governor of Jambi Province for the remaining term of 2016-2021. Afterwards, the pairs took an oath before signing the inauguration ceremony minutes.

Also present at the inauguration were, among others, First Lady Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo, Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Ibu Mufidah Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B. Pandjaitan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Rini Soemarno and Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti.

The inauguration started by handing over the excerpts of the Presidential Decree to Governors and Deputy Governor by President Jokowi at the Credential Room of the Merdeka Palace.
