President Joko Widodo Asks to Well Prepare the 2018 Asian Games
After attending the 2015 International Human Rights Day, President Joko Widodo directly led a limited meeting that discussed the preparation of the 2018 Asian Games organization, at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, on Friday (11/12) afternoon.
The meeting was held to ensure the progress of the preparation of the 2018 Asian Games. I hope, after this there will be marathon of meetings each week, so we can finish the unfinished things. Moreover, entering 2016, I hope there would be no problem on venues, the President asked.
The preparation in Palembang, Jakarta, Banten, and West Java, must be carried out thoroughly because there is not much time, particularly regarding some venues that must be totally renovated. According to the President, there is also a problem in athelete village.
The President asserted that the organization of the 2018 Asian Games is an international event thus it must be planned very well. Wemust pay attention to the smallest things and every one involved must know every single thing.
Therefore, the President asked all people to boost infrastructure development, the facilities for the competition, as well as the accomodations. He also asked to carefully check the airport and public transport when the Games is approaching,.
Regarding the legal basis related to the support of ministries and institutions in the preparation and organization of the Asian Games, according to the President, if it is needed, the concept must be proposed as soon as possible.
The President emphasized to work faster while there is still time. The President also asked to check and recheck every thing, not just business as usual.
Find breakthroughs to perfection the preparation. I want maximum efforts for this big event. I really hope this Asian Games will be successful, the President affirmed.
