President Joko Widodo accompanied by First Lady Ibu Iriana as well as the delegation attended the opening ceremony of the 28thand 29th ASEAN Summits at NCC (National Convention Center), Vientiane, Laos, on Tuesday (6/9) afternoon.
The opening ceremony was started by collectively singing the ASEAN anthem. Afterward, sequentially, the Prime Minister of Lao Peoples Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith and the President of Lao PDR Bounnhang Voracith delivered a remarks to honor the heads of states or heads of governments who attended the event. They, including President Joko Widodo, then pressed a button to launch Visit ASEAN@50. After the launching, they posed for a group photo on the stage.

The next agenda of the Summit is a plenary session.
On this occasion, President Joko Widodo was also accompanied by First Lady Ibu Iriana Jokowi, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukito, and Head of Investment Coordinating Board Thomas Lembong.
