President Joko Widodo launches Synergy Action Program for People’s Economy, in Brebes Regency, Central Java, on Monday (11/4) afternoon

President Joko Widodo officially launched Synergy Action Program for People’s Economy in Agrobusiness Terminal, Larangan Village, Brebes Regency, Central Java, on Monday (11/4). The point of this program is mutual cooperation among central, provincial, as well as regency governments, State-Owned Enterprises, private parties, and the community.

In his remarks, the President explained that this program is made because the related parties usually work separately. Regional governments work alone, provincial governments work alone, central government has its own program. “From now on, it should not be like that anymore,” the President affirmed.

Brebes is intentionally chosen as the pilot project for this synergy and mutual cooperation program. “Everyone already knows the problems. The solution must be found. Don’t be ignorant,” the President said.

The President, accompanied by First Lady Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo, promises that he would always monitor this program, either with a help from the intelligence, come to Brebes, or send a representative. If the program in Brebes works, the result will be seen immediately, and all regencies will apply the program.

“It will be an example for other regencies and cities,” the President said.

Is this synergy program successful or almost successful? The President believes that if all parties work together, the program will be successful. “We must be optimistic,” he said.

The President said that the problems are clear. First, there is land certificate problem; second, capital problem; third: problems related with seeds; fourth: problems related with production tools; and fifth: post harvest problems.

The launching was attended by, among others, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Minister of Trade Thomas Lembong, Minister of Communication and Informatics Rudiantara, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Industry Saleh Husin, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Governor of Bank Indonesia Agus Martowardojo, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Rini Soemarno, and Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of National Land Agency Ferry M. Baldan. (DID/AGG/ES) (MMB/YM/Naster)
