President Joko Widodo led a limited meeting that discussed the preparation of the 2018 Asian Games and the 2017 Moto GP (Grand Prix), at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, on Monday (11/1) afternoon.

 “In this meeting, I will check once again the preparation of the 2018 Asian Games. I would like to ask about, particularly, the preparation of the committee as well as the venues. Second, this meeting will also discuss the opportunity that is given to Indonesia to be the host of the 2017 Indonesian Moto GP (Grand Prix),” President Joko Widodo said in his introductory remarks of the meeting.

As we are all aware, Indonesia has been appointed as the host of a multi sport event for Asian countries or the 18th Asian Games that will be held in Jakarta and Palembang, whereas the 2017 Moto GP will be held at Sentul Circuit, Bogor, West Java.

The President accompanied by Vice President Jusuf Kalla asked the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Puan Maharani and Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Nahrawi to explain the progress of the preparation of the 2018 Asian Games and 2017 Moto GP.

The limited meeting was attended by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Puan Maharani, Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Nahrawi, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Presidential Chief of Staff Teten Masduki, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Finance Bambang Brodjonegoro, Minister of National Development Planning/Head of National Development Planning Agency Sofyan Djalil, Minister of Transportation Ignasius Jonan, Governor of South Sumatera Alex Noerdin, and Deputy Governor of West Java Deddy Mizwar.
