President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo instructed that the 2025 Government Work Plan (RKP) must be prepared based on three main principles: harmonious, results-oriented, and right on target.

“Synchronization of the preparation of the 2025 Government Work Plan must be based on the first principle. Once again, the programs must be in line, must be harmonious. Both the Central Government and regional governments must follow the same directions. Otherwise, we will lose. Everything has to be in line, everything has to be in harmony. Suppose that the Central Government wants to increase food production but regional governments want to convert rice fields into commercial property, then it means that they do not harmonize with each other,” he said in his briefing at the 2024 National Development Planning Conference (Musrenbangnas) at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Convention Hall, Jakarta, Monday (05/06) afternoon.

Furthermore, the preparation of the Government Work Plan must also be results-oriented, taking into account the economic returns generated. The President also instructed that the Government budget must be allocated in accordance with the existing priority programs and must not be spent for unproductive programs.

“Therefore, we have to focus. Don’t make me have to warn you many times not to distribute the budget unwisely to all agencies, without first determining a clear priority scale. For example, if there is a 10 percent increase in the budget, every agency will also be given a 10 percent increase, without any clear priority scale. Don’t spend the budget on too many meetings and too many comparative studies. Let go of what happened in the past but never let it happen again in the future,” stressed the President.

Then, not less importantly, the President emphasized that the Government budget must be used appropriately, so that the public can really benefit from it.

“Don’t let me see that the budget allocated to community health centers for overcoming stunting is diverted into building fences for the community health centers. Such diversion already happened, don’t say it never did. Stunting has nothing to do with fences, don’t make them have to do with each other. Therefore, I hope that this National Development Planning Conference can serve to connect the development agendas of the Central Government, provincial, regency, and city governments so that everything is in line, everything is in harmony, and everything is right on target, and the people will really enjoy the results,” he concluded.
