President Jokowi Accepts Resignation of His Two Expert Staffers

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo accepts the resignation of Adamas Belva Syah Devara and Andi Taufan Garuda Putra from their position as expert staffers for the President and understands their reasons.

“I understand why they, Belva Devara and Andi Taufan, stepped down from their positions. They are such brilliant young men who have great achievement and reputation,” President Jokowi said in a statement responding to resignation of his expert staffers, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Friday (24/4).

The President also expressed hope that they would learn more about governance and public policy.

“Unfortunately (they have resigned). Along with other expert staffers, they have assisted me in creating several innovations in various public service systems to make the service more effective and fast,” he added.

The Head of State expressed belief that they will succeed in their respective expertise, Belva in education sector, and Andi Taufan in financial technology and small and micro businesses sector.

For the record, Belva Devara informed the public of his resignation through a post on his official Instagram account on Tuesday (21/4). Meanwhile, Andi Taufan informed about his resignation through a public statement signed on Friday (24/4). (UN/EN)
