President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo advised Youth Officers of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) on filial piety, stating without the supports and prayers of the parents, they will be nothing.

“You also cannot be who you are now without the educators and trainers. Therefore, bow to those who have served for the future of you,” the President said during Prasetya Perwira ceremony at the State Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (14/7).

To the parents, the President congratulated them for the inauguration of their children. “They are not only the pride of you, Ladies and Gentlemen, but they are also the pride of the Indonesian people,” President Jokowi said.

The President also thanked the leaders of TNI and Polri, educators, trainers, and all ranks of the TNI Academy and the National Police Education and Training Center. “You are not only working but are serving the glory of Indonesia as well,” he said.

The President also congratulated and instructed the youth officers to implement the Armed Forces Pledge (Sapta Marga) and the soldier oath wholeheartedly. “Implement Tribrata (police’s way of life) and Catur Prasetya (police’s work guidelines) in every step of your devotion. Uphold the honor as a TNI and Polri Officer. Make your parents proud. Make Indonesia victorious,” the President concluded. (MAY/EN)
