President Jokowi Affirms Indonesia’s Commitment to Maintain Investment

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has affirmed the Government’s commitment to maintain a stable and sound investment.

The statement was made by President Jokowi in a business meeting with the Indonesia Chamber of Commerce in China (INACHAM) and a number of Chinese businesspeople at Shangri-La Hotel, Chengdu, People’s Republic of China (PRC), Friday (07/28).

He also told investors not to hesitate to convey obstacles they face when investing in Indonesia.

“If you face obstacles, be it about land acquisition or permit, please tell us,” he said, adding that the Indonesian Government welcomes all information regarding the obstacles and will solve them.

On that occasion, the Head of State also stated that several Chinese investors have invested in Indonesia.
President Jokowi went on to say that Indonesia prioritizes investment on electric vehicle (EV), renewable energy, and construction of the Nusantara Capital (IKN).

“I have noticed that the trend here is EV ecosystem development that is also our country’s aim,” he said.

In renewable energy sector, Indonesia would like to encourage Chinese investors to make investment.

“I think this is such a great opportunity for our future green energy, green products,” he remarked.
