During the visit to a cooperative run by Al-Ittifaq Islamic Boarding School in Rancabali district, Bandung regency, West Java province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo praised the management of the cooperative’s agricultural business.

“When I came to Al-Ittifaq this morning, I was really impressed. I was surprised that an Islamic boarding school has a good management in agricultural business,” the President said during the dialogue session with representatives of farmers and residents, Monday (06/03).

According to the President, the system and management will enable the school to meet market demand for agricultural products.

“It is not started from the production, but from market demand, which will lead the products to be produced around the Islamic boarding school. The management is very organized so market demand keeps coming,” he added.

During the visit, the President also inspected the agricultural area at the school, guided by Head of Al-Ittifaq Islamic Boarding School K.H. Agus Setia Irawan.

Inspection started from the warehouse for sorting agricultural products, the planting areas, to the greenhouses, which are planted with a variety of commodities such as dekopon oranges, melons, strawberries, and green vegetables.

The President also inspected the sheep and chicken farms at the school. (Bureau of Press, Media, and Information of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (FKH/AW/HD/EP)
