President Jokowi Applauds Police’s Hard Work, Dedication

During the commemoration of 74th Bhayangkara Day at the State Palace, Jakarta, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo praised the hard work of personnel of the National Police.
Bhayangkara Day is a day to commemorate the anniversary the Indonesian National Police.
“I’d like to extend the highest appreciation for the dedication, sacrifice, and contribution from personnel of the National Police personnel in maintaining public security and order, in enforcing the law, and in providing services to the people,” the President said.
On that occasion, President Jokowi stated that the National Police should continue working hard and contributing more to enforce the law amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
“The National Police as part of the Government must continue working hard to overcome both health and economic issues,” he added.
Amid the current difficult situation, the President added, the presence and the involvement of the National Police, particularly to uphold discipline among the public in implementing health protocols on a daily basis as well as to maintain public security, are crucial.
“That includes the smoothness and accuracy in the distribution of social assistance which is pivotal to maintain security and order so that the situation remains safe and peaceful,” he added.
Furthermore, the President stressed that public safety is of utmost importance and the safety and interests of the people constitutes the highest law.
“Do carry out this humanitarian duty in a persuasive and humanely manner, while still remain vigilant, responsive and firm in handling any violations of the law by maintaining professionalism and trust from the people,” President Jokowi said. (TGH / EN)
