President Jokowi Appoints Acting Head of IKN Authority

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (06/03) appointed Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono and Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency Raja Juli Antoni as Acting Head and Acting Deputy Head of the Nusantara Capital (IKN) Authority.

The statement was made by Minister of State Secretary Pratikno in his press statement at the Presidential Office in Jakarta.

“Presidential Decree on the Resignation of Head of IKN Authority Bambang Susantono and Deputy Head of IKN Authority Dhony Rahajoe has been issued today,” Pratikno said.

The Minister said that the appointment of acting Head and Deputy Head of the IKN Authority is expected to accelerate its development under the same vision.

“President Jokowi expressed hope that the development will remain consistent with the initial plan of Nusa Rimba Raya and bring positive benefits for the surrounding people,” he added.

On that occasion, Basuki said that the main focus in carrying out duty as Acting Head of the IKN Authority is resolving land and investment issues in the IKN area.

“So, both of us will soon decide the status of the land in the IKN area, whether it will be sold, leased, or used under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP). We want to expedite the process so that investors are no longer hesitant to invest. Secondly, with clearer land status, their legal status as investors in IKN will also be clearer,” he added.

In addition, the newly appointed acting Head and Deputy Head of the IKN Authority have also been ordered to prepare for the establishment of the special regional government for the IKN, while underscoring that the formation of the IKN special regional government has been prepared under a Presidential Regulation.
