President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has appointed Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution as ad interim Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.

Darmin replaced Puan Maharani, who has officially resigned from her post after she is elected as a member of the House of Representatives (DPR) for the 2019-2024 period.

Puan has also been inaugurated as Speaker of the House for the 2019-2024 period. The ceremony took place in the DPR Plenary Session at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (10/1).

The appointment of Darmin Nasution as ad interim Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture is based on Presidential Decree Number 100/P of 2019 on Dismissal and Appointment, Authorities, and Responsibilities of Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.

He will carry out the duties of Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture as well as to carry out his duties as Coordinating Minister for the Economy. (Presidential Secretariat/ES)
