President Jokowi Appreciates Supports from Islamic Boarding Schools on COVID-19 Vaccination

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo expressed appreciation to Islamic Boarding Schools for the supports in the implementation of COVID-19 vaccination drives.

“We want to protect all of them from getting COVID-19 infection through vaccination,” the President said during his inspection at Istiqamatuddin Darul Mu’arrif Islamic Boarding School, Aceh Besar regency, Aceh province, Thursday (16/09).

In addition, six other Islamic boarding schools in the country also simultaneously carry out vaccination drives, namely Al-Kautsar Modern Islamic Boarding School (Pekanbaru city), Al-Fathamiyah Islamic Boarding School (Karawang regency), Darussalam Islamic Boarding School (Banyumas regency), Al-Rifa’ie 2 Modern Islamic Boarding School (Malang regency), Asy-Syuhada Pelaihari Islamic Boarding School (Tanah Laut regency); and DDI Mattoanging Islamic Boarding School (Bantaeng regency).

In a dialogue with the students via video conference, the President expressed joy toward the enthusiasm of the students on the vaccination. The Head of State also hopes that after vaccination, the students will be more protected and they can soon attend in-person learning.

One of the Islamic students from Al-Rifa’ie 2 Modern Islamic Boarding School, Mustika, who came from Ambon, Maluku province, expressed gratitude on the vaccination. Similarly, Head of the DDI Mattoanging Islamic Boarding School Abdul Haris Nurdin expressed his appreciation to the Government for the implementation of this vaccination drive for students.(BPMI/UN)(FI/LW)
