President Joko Jokowi Widodo opened the 2018 Leaders Meeting of Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (Polri) at Gatot Subroto Hall, TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Tuesday (23/1) morning.
The Meeting was attended by 359 participants, comprising of 180 high-ranking officials of TNI and 179 high-ranking officials of Polri. It featured a theme With Synergy, Solidity, and Professionalism, TNI-Polri are Ready to Secure2018 Simultaneous Regional Elections and the Stages of 2019 General Election in order to Ensure the Smoothness of National Development.<>
In his remarks, the President said that all Indonesians should be proud because a number of elections, such as legislative election, presidential and vice presidential elections, as well as elections of governor, regent, and mayor,were successfully organized. It means our people are more mature in implementing democracy and involving in politics.
On this occasion, the President expresses his appreciation and gratitude to all ranks of TNI and Polri for their good performance in securing all elections.
The opening of TNI and Polri Leaders Meeting was attended by Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, Attorney General Prasetyo, Commander of TNI Air Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and Chief of Polri Gen.
