President Jokowi Arrives in Germany for Hannover Messe

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, accompanied by First Lady Ibu Iriana Jokowi, arrived at Hannover Airport, Hannover, Germany on Saturday (04/15) at around 20.25 local time.

The President and the entourage took a 15-hour flight from Indonesia using the Garuda Indonesia GIA-1 aircraft.

Welcoming the President at the airport were the Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Arif Havas Oegroseno and spouse, Director of Protocol of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs Daniela Vogl, Head of Protocol of the State of Lower Saxony Matthias Woiwode, and Indonesian Defense Attaché Colonel Budi Wibowo and spouse.

Afterward, President Jokowi and his entourage headed to the hotel where they spent the night in Hannover.

Upon arrival at the hotel, President Jokowi and Ibu Iriana were greeted by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, and Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita who had arrived earlier.

President Jokowi is scheduled to attend the 2023 Hannover Messe and meet with the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in a bilateral meeting. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (KA/FI)
