President Jokowi Arrives in Indonesia

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and the entourage Monday (05/16) arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport after attending the ASEAN-United States Special Summit at the US capital of Washington, D.C.

The GIA-1 aircraft that carrying the Head of State landed in Tangerang, Banten, at around 05.15 WIB, after traveling for approximately eight hours from Abu Dhabi International Airport, UAE.

On the plane down steps, President Jokowi and First Lady Ibu Iriana were welcomed by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin and Ibu Wury Ma’ruf Amin, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Force (TNI) General Andika Perkasa, Chief of National Police General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Acting Governor of Banten Almuktabar, and President Director of Garuda Indonesia Irfan Setiaputra.

In addition to attending the series of ASEAN-US Special Summit, the President also visited Space X facilities in Boca Chica and meeting its founder, Elon Musk.

On his flight to Indonesia, President Jokowi and the entourage had a transit in Abu Dhabi, UAE, to directly express his condolences following the passing away of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Also accompanying President Jokowi on the working visit were Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno L.P. Marsudi, Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi, and Minister of Investment/Head of Chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (GWH/HD)
