President Jokowi Arrives in Phnom Penh, Cambodia for ASEAN Summit

Departing from I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Ibu Iriana Jokowi Wednesday (11/09) arrived at Phnom Penh International Airport, Cambodia at around 19.30 local time to attend the ASEAN Summit.

On the plane down steps, the President and the First Lady were welcomed by the Cambodian Minister of Post and Telecommunications Vandeth Chea, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Cambodia Sudirman Haseng and his spouse, and Defense Attaché of the Republic of Indonesia in Phnom Penh Mochammad Rizal and his spouse.

Afterward, the President and Ibu Iriana along with other delegates headed to the hotel where they spent the night before continuing their activities the next day.

Upon arrival at the hotel, the President and Ibu Iriana were welcomed by Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, and representatives of the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh.

Both were also welcomed by the traditional angklung music attraction played by 15 Indonesian youths who performed the song “Ojo Dibandingke” (Don’t Compare) and Javanese folk song “Gundul Pacul”. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (FI/EP)
