President Jokowi Arrives in Washington DC
Presidential Plane Boeing Business Jet 2 that carried President Joko Jokowi Widodo, First Lady Ibu Iriana Widodo and the Presidential entourage landed at Andrews Military Airport Base, the United States on Sunday (25/10) 12:30 local time.
Upon his arrival, President Joko Widodo was welcomed by the Indonesian Ambassador to the US Budi Bowoleksono, US Ambassador to Indonesia Robert O. Blake and several ambassadors of ASEAN countries.
United States Chief of Protocol Peter A. Selfridge and Defense Attaché, Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Washington Brigjen Pudjo Wahjono also welcomed President Jokowi.
From Andrews Military Airport Base, President Jokowi and First Ibu Lady Iriana Joko Widodo directly headed to Blair House, where the President would stay during his state visit in Washington DC.
President Jokowi was scheduled to meet Indonesian citizens in the US on Sunday (25/10) afternoon, at Wisma Tilden, House of the Ambassador of Indonesia to US, in Washington DC.
As many as 1,250 people were predicted to attend the event.
President Jokowi and Ibu Iriana were scheduled to stay in Washington DC for 3 days.
Accompanying the President in his state visit to Washington DC were Presidential Chief of Staff Teten Masduki, Head of Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Franky Sibarani.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Communication and Informatics Rudiantara and Minister of Trade Thomas Lembong had arrived at Washington DC in advance. (UN/SI/ES) (RAS/EP/YM/Naster)
